A map shows the approximate location of the epicenter of Thursday morning's quake near La Verne.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was a mile from San Dimas, California, two miles from Pomona and three miles from Diamond Bar.
In the past 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
