It’s not every day you see animals at a train station, but on Wednesday at Union Station in Los Angeles that’s exactly what riders saw.

The animals were there to ride the train to the Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona and that’s just what they did.

Two lambs and a chicken boarded a Metrolink train in Los Angeles and rode to the Fairplex station in Pomona, where they stopped about 11 a.m.

Metrolink makes extra weekend stops on the San Bernardino Line at the Fairplex station during the L.A. County Fair. The Wednesday train ride for the critters was intended to show the public the ease in taking public transportaion the Fair, according to a Metrolink news release.

This year, Metrolink is operating an additional late-night train to Union Station on the weekends from the Fair. The late-night Metrolink service is funded by Metro.
